The original entrance to Alex’s is depicted with a blue tinted awning on Market Street, just past the corner where United Cigar is shown. This three story structure, along with the row of fragmented buildings along its Main Street parcel were eventually demolished. A large, singular, two- story art-deco structure replaced the building in 1932 & remains to this day. While construction took place, Alex traveled to Greece in search of a wife. It is said he was a particular man & returned with no luck.

He remained a bachelor.
